United Jewish Teachers
A strong, organized voice for Jewish educators and staff in NYC public schools.
United Jewish Teachers (UJT) is a grassroots network of Jewish UFT members and NYC public school staff. We organize to protect our safety, dignity, and rights in our schools and in our union, confront antisemitism, and help build a safer, stronger learning environment for every student.

Who We Are
United Jewish Teachers (UJT) is a citywide network of Jewish UFT teachers, paraprofessionals, and NYCPS staff, together with parents, students, and community allies. Founded in September 2024, we advocate for Jewish NYCPS staff on union and school-based issues, stand up against antisemitism in all its forms, and use our collective voice in the media and public sphere to demand real accountability and change.

What We Do
Advocating in the UFT & Schools
We organize within the UFT and at the school level so Jewish educators and staff are represented, protected, and heard. We push for clear, enforceable policies, safe workplaces, and strong contractual protections that reflect the realities in our classrooms.
Confronting Antisemitism
We respond when antisemitism shows up in classrooms, staff rooms, union spaces, or online. We support staff who experience hate, push for concrete accountability, and demand serious training and policies that keep all students and staff safe.
Leading a Media Voice for Change
We speak out publicly as educators, union members, parents, and community members. Through statements, campaigns, and media engagement, we make sure that the experiences and perspectives of Jewish staff in NYC public schools are part of the public conversation.
Take Action
UJT is powered by members and allies taking real action together. Whether you work in a school, are a parent or student, or simply care about Jewish educators in NYC, there’s a meaningful way to plug in.

Report an Incident
If you’ve experienced antisemitism, harassment, or discrimination in your school, union space, or a related setting, you don’t have to face it alone. We can help you document what happened, connect you with resources, and think through next steps.
For Parents, Students & Community
